Becoming your own boss is no easy task. As enticing as it may seem, entrepreneurship does require a good amount of discipline. And so, we have compiled a list of 10 Daily Habits that will assist you in becoming a successful entrepreneur. Some of which have come directly from one of the most successful entrepreneurs to have lived, Steve Jobs!
1. Manage your time
Time waits for no one which is exactly why you need to learn how to manage it. Effective time management allows one to focus on a smaller amount of activities that produce bigger results. This in turn increases productivity and performance in a way that is simple and less draining on you as an individual or team member.
2. Keep to a routine
The most successful entrepreneurs have a set routine which they follow to keep on track. This can be anything from a simple morning routine to a weekly plan of action. Sticking to your routine will encourage discipline and will be the foundation of a smooth-running business.
3. Go for a walk
Exercising is a great way to keep both your body and mind in shape. Steve Jobs would regularly lead “walking meetings” where he would brainstorm along with his team members as they all took a leisurely walk about.
So, when you’re feeling stuck or as if your creative juices have run dry, take a walk. Walking can increase creativity by 60% according to research done by Stanford. Just a few minutes a day and your creative juices should be flowing once more.

4. Get your toughest tasks done first
Some tasks can be quite gruelling when running your own business. Just the thought of them can frustrate you in ways you never knew were possible! But they must be done and you can only procrastinate on that report for so long.
Starting your workday off by completing your hardest tasks will make those that follow feel like child’s play.
5. Sleep
Sleep is a key factor in your journey to success as it affects a number of things from your decision-making abilities to your overall health.
However, sleeping habits vary from person to person so it is best to work out what is best for you.

6. Plan your tomorrows today!
Planning ahead makes the future a little easier to navigate. Of course, we can’t foresee everything but a rough idea about how you need to go about your day takes a weight off your shoulders. Doing so takes away the stress of forgetting anything important or wasting valuable time by doing nothing at all.
7. Take some time to breathe
Running your own business can be quite taxing on one’s mental and emotional health. Which brings us to our 6th point.
Taking a break is just as important as any other habit on this list. Take a moment to recharge and step away from your work environment to clear your thoughts and allow your body to relax.
8. Meditate
Jobs had always been incredibly open about his success with meditation. The practice gave way to some of his most famous Apple products.
But meditation is not as easy as it may seem. It takes time, dedication and discipline but is guaranteed to improve your way of life.
“If you just sit and observe, you will see how restless your mind is. If you try to calm it, it only makes things worse, but when it does, there’s room to hear more subtle things — that’s when your intuition starts to blossom and you start to see things more clearly and be in the present more.” – Steve Jobs

9. Check-in with your team
You are only as successful as your team allows for you to be. Try to engage with your team members, touching base when needed to ensure the smooth running of your business.
10. Be true to yourself
Following your own voice and intuition is an integral part of being an entrepreneur. Even more so when it comes to making difficult decisions regarding your business. Steve Jobs was aware of this and in turn, used both to succeed. In his celebrated Stanford commencement address, he stated:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Do not be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Do not let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice, heart, and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.”
